Grassroots Defined

Each day, I go through stories similar to this one. Some I share, others I don’t. Yet, each demonstrates how Ron Paul supporters are reshaping the Republican Party from the bottom-up. From a story in Washington’s Bellingham Herald titled “Whatcom GOP sees flood of precinct filings from Ron Paul supporters:”

Ron Paul supporters filed en masse to run for Republican Party precinct committee officers, grass-roots elected seats that will be on this year’s primary election ballot.

The goal, said one PCO race newcomer, is to return the party to the principles it used to have.

“It needs to change,” said Greg Parsons, who is running against PCO Kathy Kershner. “I do have some issues with establishment Republicans. On the contrary, I think we are, in fact, the real, true conservative Republicans.”

PCO seats, elected every two years, often receive no interest, or only one person files. This year, because of a flood of interest in Republican PCO seats, many more contested races will be on the ballot…

But nearly an equal number of names unfamiliar to party officials appeared on the filing list, and many challenged longtime PCOs. By comparing them to the list of caucus participants, they learned they are Paul supporters, Van Werven said.

“I suspect that they are interested in organizing – reorganizing – the local Republican Party,” Van Werven said.

Ron Paul Decisively Wins Minnesota and Carries Delegates in Multiple Other States

Gains in Michigan, Minnesota, Vermont and Virginia affirm delegate-attainment strategy

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – Supporters of 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul have propelled him to an historic win in Minnesota this weekend, with delegate gains having occurred in multiple other states as well.  The recent achievements affirm Paul’s delegate-attainment strategy, and support the notion that he and his platform will be featured prominently at the Republican National Convention in Tampa this August.

In Minnesota, Paul organizers won a decisive 12 of 13 delegates to the RNC at the Rivers Edge Convention Center in St. Cloud, wrapping up the North Star State’s two-tier nominating contest.  Earlier this spring, Paul supporters won 20 of 24 delegates at district conventions.  In all, the Paul camp has swept the state of Minnesota winning 32 of the state’s 40 national delegates.

In addition to Paul’s consequential victory in Minnesota, Paul organizers won delegates in Mitt Romney’s home state of Michigan.  There, Paul supporters estimate that they have won eight voting slots plus one non-voting delegate and 11 alternates.  Of the 14 Congressional District voting contests held this weekend, Paul organizers won RNC delegates in the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 6th, and 9th Districts, denying Detroit-born Romney a clean sweep of his home state.  The Michigan victory occurred despite a heavy Romney campaign presence promoting a win for the establishment pick and presumptive nominee.

At the Vermont Republican State Convention this weekend, Ron Paul supporters won two of 14 national delegates, with two more considered potential allies, and they won 10 of 14 alternates.  In all, Vermont has 17 delegates including super delegates.

Finally in Virginia, 11 district conventions have been taking place in recent weeks and have ended this weekend.  In those contests Ron Paul supporters won 17 of 33 national delegates selected, with the remainder of the state’s 49 delegates including super delegates to be selected at the June 16th state convention.  Also in Virginia, Paul supporters elected a Republican Congressional District Chair in the Third District, over a dozen liberty-oriented Republican State Central Committee Members five of whom are Ron Paul supporters, dozens of Republican county and city committee chairs, and hundreds of county and city committee members.

“Victories in Minnesota and other states demonstrate that Ron Paul supporters possess the adaptability, organizational muscle, and unmatched enthusiasm required to continue winning delegates in upcoming contests,” said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Manager John Tate.

“We’re also pleased to see Ron Paul supporters engaged in party-building to broaden the activist and voting base that will advance Republican majorities for many years to come,” added Mr. Tate.

Tate: One More Time!

Throughout this campaign, Dr. Paul’s supporters have risen to the challenge time and again.

Thanks to this reinforcement, Dr. Paul has been able to defy expectations and shock the establishment.

Starting with the Minnesota State Convention this weekend, and continuing with several more meetings over the next few weeks alone, our movement has an opportunity to secure more delegates, take control of more local and state parties, and set the stage to not only make a tremendous impact on the direction of the Republican Party at Tampa, but to achieve lasting victory in the years to come.

As Dr. Paul wrote yesterday, his grassroots supporters are holding a Rise for Liberty Money Bomb this Thursday, May 17.

And I want to echo his latest call for your help one more time in what will likely be the final Money Bomb of this campaign.

The establishment has seen our successes over these past months, and they know that only our movement has the energy and dedication to put an end to the status quo and get this country back on track.

Your participation on Thursday will serve to remind them once again that we’re committed to making our message heard in Tampa – and beyond.

So please visit www.RonPaul2012.com tomorrow, May 17, to give to the Rise for Liberty Money Bomb.

For Liberty,

John Tate
Campaign Manager

P.S.  Dr. Paul’s grassroots supporters are holding a Rise for Liberty Money Bomb this Thursday, May 17, and I hope you’ll answer his call to participate in what will likely be the final Money Bomb of this campaign.

Any funds raised during this effort will go toward having the greatest possible impact at the Republican National Convention and continuing our work to Restore America Now.

Ron Paul is not quitting

Thank you for volunteering and supporting Congressman Ron Paul for President!
Many of you have sacrificed your money, your homes (meeting and events), resources and the most precious gift you have…your time. Many of us have all been at this in California for since 2007 and we thank you.

If you have not already heard that The Ron Paul 2012 Campaign is not spending any money in Primaries at this time. This does not mean he is dropping out of the race. Ron Paul is still on the ballot and the delegate process is still up for grabs in California. As always and in all campaigns it is up to you the volunteers to make it happen.

I repeat he is not dropping out of the race. I got this straight from Jesse Benton.

The funds are just not there for news and TV ads but we are still going door to door and phoning the voters here in California and elsewhere in the country and we still have plenty of materials to go around.

It has been by your efforts that we have the delegates going to Florida to vote for the only man who can take our country back for the brink.

In the last 20 days before the June 5th primary we will continue to push to take our political process. So tell all your friends

He is still in the race and your vote and their efforts count.

I will also release a list of names of liberty candidates throughout the state that are supporters of liberty.

I can still be reached at robertv@ronpaul2012,com or by my other email address robertwvaughn@aol.com .  Please stick to campaign related issues on any email until after June 5th 2012.

We have 20 more days so don’t quit because Ron has not.

Winning Delegates from California
California is winners take-all primary by congressional district.  Meaning that, delegates awarded to the Republican National Convention will be apportioned by the congressional district that Ron Paul wins.

Registering Republican

You must be a registered Republican by May 21, 2012 in order to vote for Ron Paul for President! Ron Paul is on the Republican ballot.  You must be a registered Republican to receive the Republican ballot.  Registering new Ron Paul Republicans is the key to victory.

We all love good sign wave, but we gain no new voter.  We must register new Republicans.  Voters who are not Republicans after May 21st cannot vote for Ron Paul!  Always have registration forms.  You can get forms at your local county registrar, DMV, or post office. You only have 6 more days to get them done and in the mail by May 21st.

RepublicanCountyCentral Committee
Liberty Republicans must restore the Republican Party!  County Central Committees are the smallest political demographic and are founded in the California Constitution.  The true Republican Party is the county central committee.  The single largest victory Liberty Republicans have had in California is our growing membership on county central committees and the growing number of delegates to the state central committee.  Help us continue our victory.

We are looking for Liberty Republicans to run in every county throughout California in the coming years since the registration as passed for this election cycle election for the next central committee begins again in February 2014 but we need alternates as well right now.

If you have already been organizing and have a point person in your area, have them contact us with the information at robertwvaughn@aol.com . Subject line: County Central Committee

The Liberty HQ's in California

Ron Paul Statement on Campaign Going Forward

“We will continue to take leadership positions, win delegates, and carry a strong message to the Republican National Convention that Liberty is the way of the future.” – Ron Paul

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul issued the following statement to supporters and the general public concerning the continuation of his historic bid for the GOP nomination.

The statement tees up forthcoming information the campaign will release concerning its fruitful delegate-attainment strategy still occurring at delegate-selection events such as state conventions ahead of the Republican National Convention in Tampa.

Below please find comments from Congressman Paul:

“As I reflect on our 2012 Presidential campaign, I am humbled by the supporters who have worked so hard and sacrificed so much.  And I am so proud of what we have accomplished.  We will not stop until we have restored what once made America the greatest country in human history.

“This campaign fought hard and won electoral success that the talking heads and pundits never thought possible.  But, this campaign is also about more than just the 2012 election.  It has been part of a quest I began 40 years ago and that so many have joined.  It is about the campaign for Liberty, which has taken a tremendous leap forward in this election and will continue to grow stronger in the future until we finally win.

“Our campaign will continue to work in the state convention process.  We will continue to take leadership positions, win delegates, and carry a strong message to the Republican National Convention that Liberty is the way of the future.

“Moving forward, however, we will no longer spend resources campaigning in primaries in states that have not yet voted.  Doing so with any hope of success would take many tens of millions of dollars we simply do not have.  I encourage all supporters of Liberty to make sure you get to the polls and make your voices heard, particularly in the local, state, and Congressional elections, where so many defenders of Freedom are fighting and need your support.

“I hope all supporters of Liberty will remain deeply involved – become delegates, win office, and take leadership positions.  I will be right there with you.  In the coming days, my campaign leadership will lay out to you our delegate strategy and what you can do to help, so please stay tuned.

For Liberty,

Ron Paul.”

Note: Ron Paul is NOT out of the presidential race.  An explanation will follow shortly.
