Ron Paul Offers Relief for Small Business

Allows grace period for regulatory compliance

LAKE JACKSON, Texas - This week, 2012 Republican Presidential candidate, Congressman Ron Paul introduced a bill on the House Floor that would alleviate the onerous regulations the federal government imposes on small businesses, which are the backbone of the U.S. economy.

H.R. 3267, the Protect Small Business Jobs Act of 2011, would grant small businesses a six-month grace period to comply with federal regulations.

Speaking about the bill on the House floor, Congressman Paul said:

“At a time of continuing high unemployment and stagnant growth, doesn’t it make sense to give small businesses a reasonable time to comply with federal regulations rather than just hitting them with job-destroying fines and legal bills?

“I hope all my colleagues will stand up for small businesses and their current and potential employees by cosponsoring the Protect Small Business Jobs Act.”

Ron Paul Campaign Announces South Carolina State Chairman

Dr. Michael Vasovski to lead South Carolina effort

LAKE JACKSON, Texas– Today, the Ron Paul 2012 Presidential campaign announced the appointment of Dr. Michael Vasovski as South Carolina Campaign Chairman.

“As a sole medical practitioner, I am also a small business owner, and know full well the burdens placed on small businesses by the federal government,” said Dr. Vasovski in a statement. “Dr. Paul is the only presidential candidate with a serious plan to reduce such regulations and cut $1 trillion from the federal budget in his first year in office. I am honored to support Ron Paul’s campaign for the Republican nomination.”

The son of a 26-year Air Force veteran, Dr. Vasovski served in the United States Army’s Medical Corp from 1981-1987, achieving the rank of Captain. Upon leaving the Army, he moved to Aiken, South Carolina where he began his private general medical practice.

Dr. Vasovski was one of the original founders of the Free Medical Clinic of Aiken. He and Cindy, his wife of 31 years, continue to volunteer there where needy people can partake of health care that is provided completely free of charge and generated by and from the voluntary efforts of a large staff of caring, generous and compassionate citizens of Aiken. Dr. Vasovski still continues to serve the people of Aiken and the surrounding counties to this day.

This announcement comes after a CNN/Time Poll showed Dr. Paul polling in the top three among GOP presidential hopefuls in South Carolina.

Ron Paul Polling Top Three in Key Early Voting States

Solid double-digit support in Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – A CNN/Time poll released yesterday shows Congressman Paul polling third in the key early voting states of Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina.

Dr. Paul, whose loyal base of support is unlikely to transfer to any of his GOP competitors, polled at a strong 12 percent in all three states.

“The steady, growing support Ron Paul earns in the key early voting states of Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina is a direct result of his winning message of Constitutionally-limited government, sound money, and a strong national defense,” said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton.

Full poll results can be found here.

Ron Paul’s Latest Moneybomb Nets More Than $2.75 Million

‘Black This Out’ theme inspires small contributors

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – The Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign announced today that its latest money bomb dubbed “Black This Out” netted more than $2.75 million in small donations.

The money bomb, or online fundraising event, began at midnight on October 19th and concluded today, October 24th, at noon.

Ron Paul supporters in all 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, U.S. territories, and U.S. military installations made a total of 44,527 donations, with 40,494 of these donations unique ones.  The mean or average donation over this period was $61.92 while the median contribution was $25, demonstrating the broad support Dr. Paul gets from everyday concerned citizens.

“This moneybomb’s success conveys that Ron Paul’s supporters, whether independent or loosely organized, are poised to dig in deep and back him even during this government-imposed economic downturn,” said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton.

“This block of voters supporting Dr. Paul is growing and is comprised of generous Americans having no plans to switch to another candidate,” said Mr. Benton.

Revolution PAC Seeks to Own 2012 Web Campaigning

Ron Paul super PAC harnesses ’08 grassroots creativity, passion for ’12 win.

NORTHBROOK, IL (PRWEB) October 20, 2011.  The grassroots enthusiasm that helped propel Congressman Ron Paul in his 2008 presidential campaign has a focused outlet this primary election season in Revolution PAC.

“This campaign is going to be different,” notes Revolution PAC Advisory Board member Penny Langford Freeman. “This time, we are not only creative and passionate, but organized and focused on a win.”

The super PAC launched its first national ad buy in conjunction with Tuesday’s CNN Western Republican Debate. Its hard-hitting, 60-second ad “Plastic Men” ran in three prime-time slots preceding the event.

“Revolution PAC is the Ron Paul grassroots passion and creativity on steroids,” continues Freeman, “a frightening thought for Congressman Paul’s opponents, given the spontaneous combustion of his online presence in the ’08 presidential campaign.”

Traditional media buys during national GOP debate broadcasts and in key primary states will be coupled with Revolution PAC’s innovative Web-only promotions designed and optimized for viral appeal.

Revolution PAC’s Web campaign launched October 6 with a “designed-for-online” Ron Paul YouTube entitled “Armed Chinese Troops in Texas.” The kinetic typography ad gives visual words and a voice over to a 2009 Ron Paul foreign policy speech delivered on the House floor. Just two weeks after its release, the video has garnered nearly 350,000 views and more than 59,000 Facebook shares.

“The ‘Imagine If’ phraseology pushes the listener to think about our foreign policy and how we, as Americans, would feel if foreign troops occupied our sovereign territory in Texas,” explains Freeman. “We’ve had people tell us that this video drove them to tears, and that is what we were looking for – an emotional response. We want voters to have a change of heart – and mind – when they hear the message of compassion that Revolution PAC and Ron Paul convey.”

Will Revolution PAC own the Web for Ron Paul in this election? “Stay tuned,” says Freeman.

Revolution PAC is bolstering Ron Paul’s consistent, constitutional message with a campaign of targeted television ads and cutting-edge Web promotions complemented by billboards and radio ads in key primary states. Unlimited donations from individuals, businesses and organizations are being accepted by Revolution PAC to support that effort.

Ron Paul Campaign Announces Major New Ad Buy! (+ VIDEO)

Two new ads capture momentum following ‘Plan to Restore America’ rollout

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – The Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign announced today the release of two new broadcast campaign ads that capitalize on the aggressive posture Dr. Paul displayed during his Las Vegas, Nevada “Plan to Restore America” launch.

The 30-second spot “Plan” clearly explains Paul’s balanced budget plan to voters, and the 60-second spot “Consistent” compares his distinguished record of advocating conservative principles with the records of his establishment opponents Herman Cain, Mitt Romney and Rick Perry.

“Plan” and “Consistent” are part of a two week, multi-million dollar blitz in the key early states of Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada.  The campaign will also run radio versions of these spots, and complement the broadcast push with substantial voter outreach on the same topics.

“The absolutely positive reception of Ron Paul’s ‘Plan to Restore America’ means we’re obligated to meet an even higher standard of outreach and discussion,” said Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton, a “Plan to Restore America” co-author.

“No other Republican candidate’s economic plan matches that of Dr. Paul’s, so in turn we thought it only right to follow with a worthy campaign advertising effort,” said Mr. Benton.

Ron Paul Announces Ambitious ‘Plan to Restore America’

Realistic solutions to spending, tax challenges

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – The Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign announced the release of Dr. Paul’s “Plan to RestoreAmerica,” an ambitious federal government spending, tax and reform blueprint that as President he will implement.

The plan, authored by Paul’s campaign staff at his direction, promises to restore the federal government to its former Constitutionally-limited, smaller-government and less-burdensome place.  The plan cuts $1 trillion in federal spending during the first year of a Paul Presidency and delivers a balanced budget in year three of a Paul Presidency.

“Ron Paul’s plan is the only one that seriously addresses the economic and budgetary problems our nation faces. It cuts $1 trillion in one year, and slashes regulations and taxes so our economy can grow and create jobs,” said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton, a plan co-author.

“It’s the only plan offered by a presidential candidate that actually balances the budget and begins to pay down the debt.  And it’s the only plan being offered that tries to reign in the Federal Reserve and get inflation under control.”

Cuts totaling $1 trillion during the first year of a Paul Presidency would be achieved by eliminating five federal cabinet departments – the Departments of Energy, Housing and Urban Development, Commerce, Interior and Education.  Cuts of this scale will also be accomplished by a Paul Presidency abolishing the Transportation Security Administration and returning responsibility for security to private property owners, abolishing corporate subsidies, stopping foreign aid, ending foreign wars, and returning most other spending to 2006 levels.

“Plastic Men” to Air Preceding CNN Debate October 18 (VIDEO!)

Revolution PAC’s Ron Paul ad targeting integrity–deficient rivals to make national TV debut.

Northbrook, IL – October 13, 2011.  Revolution PAC has secured three 60-second national prime time spots to air its acclaimed ad “Plastic Men” in conjunction with next week’s CNN Western Republican Presidential Debate. Featured by USA Today and The Wall Street Journal when it launched in mid-September and logging more than 100,000 YouTube views since that time, the video sharply differentiates limited government champion and fiscal hawk Congressman Ron Paul from his establishment-driven GOP rivals.

The CNN Western Republican Presidential Debate will be broadcast live from Las Vegas at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on October 18.

Revolution PAC expects the airing of “Plastic Men” to further diminish Rick Perry, who has plummeted in the polls and failed to impress in recent debates, as a viable option for conservative leaders. Perry’s Texas executive order requiring HPV vaccinations, Mitt Romeny’s Massachusetts health care mandate and the economic miscues of a host of Republican candidates are spotlighted in the ad.

“’Plastic Men’ is an exercise in distinguishing Ron Paul’s consistent, principled record from those of the GOP field’s many pretenders,” explains Revolution PAC Advisory Board member Gary Franchi. “Unabashed TARP supporters Mitt Romney and Herman Cain, for instance, stand in stark contrast to Ron Paul, who began warning of the housing collapse in 2001 and who has never voted for a bailout. The media consistently downplays Dr. Paul’s prescience on this and other vital issues; Revolution PAC aims to correct any misperceptions.”

Timing of the ad, Franchi continues, could not be better. “Cain was caught this week brazenly denying his criticism of Ron Paul’s Audit the Fed push. Now that the investigation has proven fruitful, revealing $16 trillion in previously undisclosed loans by the Federal Reserve to foreign and domestic banks, Cain claims to support transparency.”

The bottom line message of “Plastic Men” is clear, insists Franchi. “Regardless of slick packaging, political expediency will not win votes in 2012.”

Rep. Paul’s strong states’ rights outlook engenders strong support for his campaign throughout the West. In September, Paul won the California GOP Straw Poll by a wide margin. In the 2008 GOP presidential primaries, he earned second place-finishes in Nevada, Montana, Idaho and New Mexico.

A recent Harris Poll showed Ron Paul prevailing over Barack Obama 51 percent to 49 percent in a general election race.

Revolution PAC is bolstering Ron Paul’s consistent, constitutional message with targeted TV advertising campaigns complemented by billboards and radio ads in key primary states. Unlimited donations by individuals, businesses and organizations are being accepted by Revolution PAC to support that effort.

Ron Paul Nevada Team to Hold Reno Office Grand Opening

First of two Nevada offices to hold public opening

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – The Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign announced today plans to hold a celebratory grand opening for its Reno, Nevada satellite campaign office.

The event, which regretfully Dr. Paul is not scheduled to attend, is one of two Silver State campaign offices to hold a public opening in the coming week.  Details of a Las Vegas area headquarters grand opening that will indeed feature Dr. Paul are forthcoming.

The Reno office event will take place on Friday, October 14th at 7:00 p.m. at the Ron Paul 2012 campaign office, located at 1201 Terminal Way, Suite 224, Reno, NV 89502.

“Ron Paul’s poll numbers are rising and with these tailwinds the Nevada team has concluded that he is well positioned to make a tremendous impact here,” said the Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign’s Nevada Executive Director, Steve Bierfeldt.

“To be truly competitive our organization must reach out to all parts of the state.  By establishing a campaign office in Washoe County, we will increase the reach of our message and motivate even more volunteers in the Reno-Sparks area,” said Mr. Bierfeldt, who will travel from the campaign’s main Nevada office in Las Vegas to preside over the Reno grand opening.

The grand opening event will include a meet and greet with volunteers and campaign staff, who will familiarize volunteers with some aspects of plans to target Northern Nevada.  Staff will distribute campaign materials such as yard signs and bumper stickers, and light refreshments including cake and soft drinks will be served amid a family-friendly atmosphere.

Ron Paul Campaign Names New ‘Veterans for Ron Paul’ Members

Fellow veterans are fully committed to Dr. Paul

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – The Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign announced today new members of its nationwide “Veterans for Ron Paul” coalition.

The additions include New Jersey’s most conservative state legislator, a campaign volunteer who once provided communications support for Air Force One, and a Vietnam veteran familiar with Dr. Paul’s unwavering commitment to veterans.

“Now more than ever, the United States needs a leader who respects the Constitution and who will return liberty and prosperity to the American people.  We need a leader who will use our military only when it is absolutely necessary to defend the national security interests of the U.S., and who will stop engaging our military in wasteful and unconstitutional nation-building exercises,” said New Jersey State Sen. Michael J. Doherty (R-23) of Washington Township.

Sen. Doherty, who attained the rank of Captain in the U.S. Army and is also an attorney, served in Germany during the Cold War as a Nuclear Operations Officer in the Field Artillery.  On Monday, September 26th, Sen. Doherty endorsed Dr. Paul on the steps of the New Jersey State House in Trenton before a crowd of more than 400 Garden State Ron Paul supporters.

“Ron Paul is the only candidate with the staunch principles and conviction required to uphold the responsibilities as the next President of the United States.  Having experience the culture around the presidency firsthand, Ron Paul displays an unwavering authenticity that will compel the highest commitment from the men and women of the military and revive the sought-after ideals that built this country,” said Mike Wallace, a Kentucky native who resides in South Portland, Maine.

From 2000 to 2004, Mr. Wallace served in the U.S. Air Force as an Active Duty Sr. Airman at Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland, in the 89th Communications Group.  During his service, he supported communications for the Presidential Air Group, Air Force One and Special Air Mission Aircraft in the National Capital Region.  Mr. Wallace currently volunteers for the Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign in the greater Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.

A veteran living in Texas’s 14th Congressional District, which Dr. Paul represents, also joined the coalition after expressing his support for Dr. Paul in a nationally-televised campaign advertisement titled, “He Served.”

“I support Congressman Ron Paul for President because he wants to give the government back to the people.  He supports the veterans.  He wants to bring the troops back to the United States where they belong.  Dr. Paul also wants to protect our border and support the USA locally, not spend our money overseas,” said Joe R. Pena of Port Lavaca, Texas.

Mr. Pena served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam in 1965 at Id Drang Valley.  Having retired after 30 years from the Port Lavaca Police Department, he presently serves as a County Veteran Service Officer for Calhoun County, Texas.

As a function of today’s announcement, the aforementioned veterans now serve on the national advisory board of “Veterans for Ron Paul.”

Ron Paul to Celebrate Homecoming with an Event at the University of Iowa

‘Youth for Ron Paul’ to host its first ever event in the Midwest in key early state

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul will address University of Iowa supporters and community members at a special youth-oriented event held on the university’s campus.

The event, which is free and open to supporters of all ages, will be held at the University of Iowa Memorial Union in the Main Lounge on Friday, October 21st.  Doors will open to the public at 7:15 p.m.  To enter 15 minutes early, RSVP for the University of Iowa event featuring Dr. Paul at http://www.ronpaul2012.com/university-of-iowa-ron-paul-event/.

“No other candidate running for the GOP nomination generates support from students like Ron Paul does, and it is the youth vote that will help determine the 2012 election.  That’s why Ron Paul enjoys bringing his message directly to students.  Young people who want authentic change gravitate to his reliable message of peace, prosperity and individual liberty,” said Edward King, National Youth Coordinator for the Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign.

“Let me add that it is an honor to add to the festivities surrounding the University of Iowa’s homecoming celebration with Ron Paul’s campus visit,” said Mr. King.

Youth for Ron Paul (YFP), an initiative of the Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign, launched on Wednesday, September 7th and since its inception more than 7,100 people signed up to join the campaign and get involved, forming more than 100 chapters.

The University of Iowa event is the third major YFP event, taking place two days after a planned visit to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.  Last month, Dr. Paul spoke to a crowd of more than 1,300 Louisiana State University students, supporters, and community members in Baton Rouge prior to the grand opening of his Louisiana campaign headquarters.

“Since the announcement of Youth for Ron Paul, we’ve seen tremendous interest and excitement from students across the nation.  It’s inspiring to be able to work with young people dedicated to their principles and Ron Paul’s campaign,” said Ani DeGroot of Iowa.

“President Obama successfully organized young people in 2008, but he has failed to deliver on his campaign promises.  Young people now understand Ron Paul is the only candidate running who will significantly change Washington’s failed policies at home and abroad,” said Ms. DeGroot, who is on a leave of absence from the University of Iowa so she can serve as the campaign’s Midwest Regional Director for Youth for Ron Paul.

VIDEO: Revolution PAC Web Ad Blasts Obama on Militarism

Ron Paul super PAC illustrates blowback, bankruptcy wrought by Mideast intervention.

Northbrook, IL – October 07, 2011

U.S. Rep. Ron Paul’s heralded 2009 “Imagine” foreign policy speech is the inspiration for a new web ad released Thursday by Revolution PAC. The 3-minute video reinforces the unintended consequences – increased foreign aggression and debilitating national debt – reaped by overseas adventurism.

The ad is a direct hit to President Obama, who reneged on his 2008 campaign promise to bring the troops home and end the now decade-long War on Terror.

“Establishment politicians, including Barack Obama, either fail to grasp or outright ignore the crushing impact of U.S. militarism,” explains Revolution PAC Advisory Board member Gary Franchi. “For 30 years, Ron Paul has stood firm in backing a constitutional foreign policy based on friendship and trade with other nations and a strong defense of our own borders. Tangible support of Dr. Paul by the troops themselves more than proves his position.”

Ron Paul is favored for president by the military rank-and-file, receiving the most donations from all military branches in second quarter 2011 fund-raising.
 Partial narrative from the ad:

“The reality is that our military presence on foreign soil is as offensive to the people who live there as armed Chinese troops would be if they were stationed in Texas. Shutting down military bases and ceasing to deal with other nations with threats and violence is not isolationism. It is the opposite. Opening ourselves up to friendship, honest trade and diplomacy is the foreign policy of peace and prosperity.”

Last week’s Harris Poll revealed that Ron Paul would prevail over Barack Obama 51 percent to 49 percent in a general election race. Paul stands at 12 percent nationwide.
Revolution PAC is bolstering Ron Paul’s consistent, constitutional message with targeted TV advertising campaigns complemented by billboards and radio ads in key primary states. Proceeds will support the airing of game-changing commercials, like “Plastic Men,” in the months to come. Unlimited donations by individuals, businesses and organizations can be made at http://www.revolutionpac.com.

VIDEO: Ron Paul Campaign Announces Newest 2012 Ad

‘Secure’ affirms Dr. Paul’s defense bona fides

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – The Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign announced today the release of a new national security-themed television ad that is part of a seven-figure ad push that began two weeks ago.
The 30-second ad titled “Secure”cements Dr. Paul’s reputation as a leader who is fully prepared to deal with authentic threats to U.S. national security and ready to be the nation’s commander-in-chief.  The spot will air beginning today on cable and broadcast television in the key early states of Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada.
“Ron Paul is the only Republican presidential candidate to put forth the notion that a strong national defense means ending destructive unconstitutional wars having an unclear connection to national security, ending costly state-building in regions where our presence is unwanted, and bringing hundreds of thousands of troops home to make America safer and cut overseas spending,” said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton.
“This ad will affirm Dr. Paul’s standing as the best candidate to face issues pertaining to national security all in the context of refocusing our efforts on protecting America’s borders and threats that might arrive on America’s soil, not foreign lands,” said Mr. Benton.

LA Times: Another Super PAC Will Keep Donors Secret Until After Key Nominating Contests

REVPAC NOTE: We have no FEC Reporting requirements until Jan 31st. The use of the term “secret” is misleading by the LA Times.
By Melanie Mason Washington Bureau
October 6, 2011, 9:52 a.m.
Looking for a sign of the “super PAC” sea change in campaign finance? Even Texas Rep. Ron Paul—whose official campaign has been bolstered by legions of small donors—stands to benefit from an outside group that can spend unlimited donations in secret until after a string of key nominating contests occur.
The Los Angeles Times/Tribune Washington Bureau noted Thursday that independent groups expected to spend heavily in the primaries on advertising and voter outreach for their preferred candidate will not have to report their donors after the first five primaries and caucuses.

Ron Paul Tops With Leading Iowa Republicans

Growing support signals that common sense conservatism is winning the day, notes Revolution PAC.

Northbrook, IL – October 05, 2011

Ron Paul’s capture of a fifth Iowa Republican State Central Committee endorsement this week is yet another indication of the resurgence this primary season of limited government conservatism, notes Revolution PAC. SCC member James Mills joins four of his counterparts, helping to secure for Paul more Iowa Republican SCC endorsements than any other GOP presidential candidate.

“Dr. Paul’s firm belief and confidence in the power of the individual, free markets, sound money and a non-interventionist foreign policy is needed to lead the charge at the top of the ticket,” Mills said in a press statement.

The latest endorsement news is coupled with Rep. Paul’s top-tier placement in the Iowa Independent’s latest Iowa Power Rankings. The standings reflect candidates’ volunteer excitement, grassroots support, state and national messaging, and visits to Iowa, site of the country’s “First in the Nation” caucus.

Strong field organization and campaign energy sealed Rep. Paul’s position on the list. “[He’s] the only person in Iowa who has an existing base and who is rallying that base,” one panelist remarked.

“These indicators verify what people out in the field already know – despite the various news programs’ bizarre efforts to pretend Ron Paul does not exist, he is in fact surging,” remarked Revolution PAC Advisory Board Chairman Tom Woods.

“Ron Paul is the only candidate who’s actually different, who doesn’t just repeat the usual slogans,” Woods added. “What other candidate stands by his convictions even when he knows he’ll be flayed alive for it? I think this is what Iowans are picking up on – that maybe it’s about time we had a president with real courage, not just a plastic man who tells the people what he thinks they want to hear.”

Last week’s Public Policy Poll revealed Ron Paul to be the strongest among GOP contenders in a head-to-head matchup against Barack Obama. Currently polling at 11% nationwide, Paul scored a statistical first-place tie in the bellwether Ames Straw Poll in August.

Ron Paul Named ‘Taxpayer Hero’ For 111th Congress

Earns high rating of government waste watchdog

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – The Ron Paul 2012 campaign announced today that the Council for Citizens Against Government Waste (CCAGW) has named Congressman Paul a ‘Taxpayer Hero’ for the second session of the 111thCongress.

“Dr. Paul has a strong commitment to representing the interests of taxpayers, a commitment that will only continue as President,” said Mr. Benton.

Today’s announcement marks the fourth time in as many years that the CCAGW recognized Dr. Paul as a “Taxpayer Hero” in addition to the lifetime “Taxpayer Hero” rating the CCAGW has given him.  Dr. Paul received an impressive 98 percent rating in the CCAGW’s 2010 Congressional Ratings.
