Ron Paul Campaign Releases ‘The Video That Newt Doesn’t Want You to See’

150-second online ad cross-examines the former Speaker’s record on policy, values and seriousness

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – The Ron Paul 2012 Presidential campaign announced today that it has released and will broadly distribute a 150-second online advertisement that challenges former House Speaker Newt Gingrich on a group of issues dear to conservative voters.

Much of the ad is in the former Speaker’s own voice, and after a few statements by Newt it follows with an image of him sitting on a loveseat beside former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the two chuckling over their agreement concerning as-yet scientifically proven anthropogenic global warming.  The ad also features Newt’s knee-jerk assault on Rep. Paul Ryan’s (R-WI) modest budget proposal, and the former Speaker’s lobbying ties to government mortgage giants Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae that perpetuated the financial crisis and recession.  In addition, the spot showcases discussion of Newt’s lobbying ties to healthcare firms prior to his support of an Obama-Pelosi-Reid individual mandate as part of the recent wildly unpopular healthcare reform, to the absolute horror of nationally-syndicated conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh.

Taken together, claims made in the ad present conservative voters with a question about Newt, and indeed the ad concludes with this query.  And that is “What will you tell me next time?”

The campaign will send the ad to a far-reaching email list of conservative voters nationally, including in key early voting states, and it will purchase banner ads on national and state websites where conservative readers congregate.

“Our campaign is making a bold move to debunk the myth that the Newt we are seeing on the 2012 campaign trail is the conservative he has been touted to be all along.  This step we are taking is necessary, as voters are seeking authenticity among conservatives who are able to show a decades-long career of consistently walking the walk of Constitutional principles, limited government, and promoting sound money and economic policy.  Ron Paul is the only Republican presidential candidate with that record,” said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton.

Ron Paul Polling Third in Iowa and New Hampshire

Solid showing among the Hawkeye and Granite States’ likely GOP caucus-goers and primary voters

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul polls third among likely Republican caucus-goers in the key first-in-nation state of Iowa, according to a recent American Research Group poll, and different angles to this survey reveal his support may keep him anchored in third place or higher.

Congressman Paul also polls third in New Hampshire, according to a recent WMUR/University of New Hampshire poll.

In Iowa, Congressman Paul garnered 16 percent of the likely Republican caucus goers surveyed, on the heels of Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich who earned 20 and 27 percent, respectively.  Paul’s third-place showing in the poll is far ahead of past and aspiring top-three competitors.  Pizza baron Herman Cain, Rep. Michele Bachmann and Rick Santorum all earned a modest 6 percent of the vote, Texas Gov. Rick Perry earned a mere 5 percent, and just 3 percent of respondents selected Jon Huntsman.  The ARG poll also notes that among likely caucus goers who are already enrolled in the Republican Party, Paul remains a strong third place with 14 percent of the vote, with Gingrich and Romney at 30 and 17 percent, respectively.

Also in Iowa, voter self-identification with the Tea Party, or lack thereof, both help Paul remain in the top three or better: Among likely Republican caucus-goers saying they are supporters of the Tea Party, Paul polls in secondplace with 19 percent.  Among likely caucus-goers saying they are not supporters of the Tea Party or that they are undecided about the Tea Party, Paul polls third with 12 percent.  The poll of 600 likely Republican caucus-goers was conducted over November 17th to the 23rd and has a margin of error of +/- 4 percent.

In New Hampshire, Congressman Paul is holding strong in third place, within the margin of error of +/- 3.8 percent for second place in this survey of 665 randomly selected adults.  Among likely New Hampshire Republican Primary voters, Paul polls at 12 percent behind Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich who earned 42 and 15 percent, respectively.  As in the Iowa poll, the WMUR/UNH poll shows that other Republican presidential hopefuls failing to place in the top three have modest single-digit results.

“These poll results demonstrate that Ron Paul’s support in Iowa and New Hampshire is loyal, solid, and diverse, not subject to the media and pundit-fueled ‘flavor of the week’ whims.  As the finish line approaches, we’re hopeful for a strong showing that reflects this strong base of support and its steadily growing numbers,” said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton.

Ron Paul Iowa Team Names New ‘Farmers for Ron Paul’ Nationwide Coalition Members

Supporters from Warren, Pocahontas and Jackson counties produce diverse crops, livestock

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – The Iowa component of the Ron Paul 2012 Presidential campaign announced new members of its “Farmers for Ron Paul” nationwide coalition formed to energize voters in America’s unrivaled agricultural sector.

The new “Farmers for Ron Paul” members hail from Warren, Pocahontas and Jackson Counties.

“I support Ron Paul for many reasons, but as a small Iowa farmer, I support his stance that less government is what is needed and we need Washington out of our lives and business.  He strongly opposes the National Animal Identification System (NAIS), which is just big government trying to put yet another burden on the small farmer and perhaps putting us out of business.  In addition Ron Paul wants to eliminate the EPA and restructure the FDA, both of which limit what we can sell and how we go about selling it.  Farmers need Ron Paul as he is the real deal, and he will stand up for our rights,” said David Swaim of Milo.

Mr. Swaim and his wife have their farm for a year and a half.  It consists of 11 acres on which they produce poultry and hay.  Mr. Swaim is also a veteran from Iraq.

“Ron Paul is the only consistent candidate for president.  He’s is steadfast in his adherence to the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.  His Congressional record of never voting to increase taxes and opposition to undeclared wars makes him the only appealing candidate to both the mainstream GOP and the middle of the road independents opposed to prolonged, undeclared wars.  Dr. Paul would push to end agricultural subsidies and government involvement in the free market of agricultural products,” said Dale Roewe of Laurens.

Mr. Owens owns a 1,100-acre farm that has been in his family since 1882.  The farm employs one person aside from Mr. Owens’s family, and produces corn and soybeans.

“Going back many, many administrations, government farm policies have done nothing more than de-populate rural America.  Recent food scares created by corporate sized processing facilities led to the signing of The Food Modernization and Safety Act, which came close to regulating all food grown for human consumption.  On June 9, 2011, Executive Order No. 13575 established The White House Rural Council, with a mission to ‘… coordinate and increase the effectiveness of Federal engagement with rural stakeholders, including agriculture organizations, small businesses, education and training institutions health-care providers, research and land grant institutions, law enforcement, State, local and tribal governments, and non-governmental organizations regarding the needs of rural America,’” said Jim Blitgen of Bellevue.

“This is way too much government where it does not belong.  I stand behind Ron Paul, as he is for less federal involvement that takes away states’ rights and more importantly my personal liberties. I do not want to be told what to do on my land,” said Mr. Blitgen, who has owned his farm since 1962.

Mr. Blitgen owns 90 acres and mostly produces alfalfa hay, but has an acre dedicated to growing vegetables including tomatoes, squash, onions, carrots, peppers, potatoes, whole oats and wheat.  He also has 4 horses.  Mr. Blitgen is also something of a local hero as last year he helped ameliorate the damage caused by frightened horses running amok at the 2010 annual Bellevue Parade.

Messrs. Swaim, Roewe and Blitgen now serve on the “Farmers for Ron Paul” national advisory board.  As a first basic step, those wanting to join the “Farmers for Ron Paul”coalition should visit www.RonPaul2012.com/Farmers.

Ron Paul: Counting My Blessings

Dear lover of liberty,

I hope you’re enjoying a great day and spending time with family – and enjoying some good food, too!

This Thanksgiving, I have much to be thankful for, and certainly my family tops that list.

But one of the things I find myself thinking most about right now is the help and generosity of folks like you that are making my campaign a force to be reckoned with during this race for the Republican presidential nomination.

In fact, right now, polls are moving in our direction in key early states- and even the establishment media is being forced to take notice!

Just a few months ago, all the so-called “experts” were claiming I had “no chance.”

Now, many are changing their tune and all but predicting a very strong finish for me in Iowa, ifnot an outright win.

Of course, with just over five weeks to go, there’s still a lot of work left to be done - and I’m going tobe counting on you like never before in the coming weeks.

But for now, please just know how much I appreciate everything you’ve done so far for my campaign.

And on behalf of Carol, my 2012 Presidential Campaign staff, and myself, we all wish you and yours a truly wonderful Thanksgiving!

For Liberty,

Ron Paul

Ron Paul Steady in New Hampshire Top Three

New poll shows Paul’s continued rise in GOP field

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – In the latest New Hampshire Journal poll, 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul remains a top three choice of likely New Hampshire primary voters with 16 percent.

“While others may rise and fall quickly, Congressman Paul’s support is steady and rising,” said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton. “This is more proof that the American people are ready for real change, and Ron Paul is the only candidate who has the conviction to oppose the status quo of the elitist Washington establishment.”

This latest New Hampshire poll comes on the heels of a Bloomberg News poll showing Paul in a statistical tie for first place in Iowa and a strong second place in New Hampshire, and a Public Policy Poll in which he was the only Republican candidate to best Obama among independent voters (48 to 39 percent). A late October CNN/Time poll also showed him in the top three in the key states of Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina.

RevPAC Launches Supervoter Bomb Direct-Mail Project

By Chris

Today RevPAC unveiled a direct mail project to target 200,000 Supervoters in Iowa and New Hampshire.

A new Bloomberg poll yesterday has revealed Ron Paul is running neck and neck for first place in Iowa. Well, we’re going to put him well over the hump by direct-mailing two informative literature pieces directly to 200,000 Republican “Supervoters” in Iowa and New Hampshire. A Supervoter is someone who has voted in the 2008 and 2010 Republican primaries – the exact people we need to reach and inform them about how Ron Paul is hands down the best candidate to support for the Republican nomination.

The envelopes we intend to direct-mail will include one of RonPaulProducts.com’s beautiful and informative Super Brochures, and a copy of the highly-acclaimed “For Liberty Re-cut” DVD, which has woken up untold numbers of people about Ron Paul and the message of Liberty.

Also in the envelope will be a personalized letter from New York Times’ best-selling author, and Honorary Chairman of RevolutionPAC, Thomas E. Woods. In the letter (and in a way only he can), Tom will encourage the recipients to carefully review our mailed materials before going to the polls to vote for Ron Paul.

We’ve ran the numbers, and for the unbelievably low cost of only $1.20/each we can deliver one envelope to one Supervoter. We will blanket Iowa’s Supervoters first, and then move the project to focus on New Hampshire.

Visit SupervoterBomb.com to help make the project a success by donating to mail some envelopes.

Ron Paul Continues Iowa Surge

New poll puts Paul within striking distance of lead

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – In a new Iowa State University/Gazette/ KCRG poll, 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul remains within striking distance of the lead among likely Iowa caucus voters. Paul takes 20.4 percent of the vote, within the margin of error of pizza baron Herman Cain who is tentatively holding the lead at 24.5 percent.

“These numbers are a confirmation of Congressman Paul’s principled message,” said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton. “The American people are ready for real change in the way things are done in Washington, and Ron Paul is the only candidate who will fundamentally change the status quo, by offering serious cuts in spending, bringing our troops home, and restoring our economy to bring prosperity back to America.”

This latest Iowa poll comes on the heels of a Bloomberg News poll showing Paul in a statistical tie for first place in Iowa and a strong second place in New Hampshire, and a Public Policy Poll in which he was the only Republican candidate to best Obama among independent voters (48 to 39 percent). The Iowa State University poll also notes that Paul gets nearly twice as much support as the rest of the field from those in the lower income brackets.

New Bloomberg Poll: Ron Paul Neck and Neck For 1st Place in Iowa

Romney Two-Way Race Now Four-Way Republican Dead Heat in Iowa
By John McCormick, Bloomberg.com

Herman Cain, Ron Paul, Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich are in a dead heat as the top choices for Iowans likely to attend the Jan. 3 Republican presidential caucuses.

A Bloomberg News poll shows Cain at 20 percent, Paul at 19 percent, Romney at 18 percent and Gingrich at 17 percent among the likely attendees with the caucuses that start the nominating contests seven weeks away.

Economic issues such as jobs, taxes and government spending are driving voter sentiment, rather than such social issues as abortion and gay marriage, the poll finds. Only about a quarter of likely caucus-goers say social or constitutional issues are more important to them, compared with 71 percent who say fiscal concerns.

The poll reflects the race’s fluidity, with 60 percent of respondents saying they still could be persuaded to back someone other than their top choice, and 10 percent undecided. Paul’s support is more solidified than his rivals, while Cain’s is softer. All of the major contenders have issue challenges to address.

“In Iowa, it’s long been a two-person race between Romney and someone else,” said J. Ann Selzer, president of Selzer & Co., which conducted the poll for Bloomberg. “It is now a four- person race between Romney and three someone elses.”

Ron Paul Remains Competitive Against Obama in Latest Polls

Paul stays within striking distance of President

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – In a new McClatchy-Marist poll, 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul comes in 8 points behind President Barack Obama, 49 to 41 percent, and he is one of only three candidates within single digits of the President.

These results immediately follow a Public Policy poll from yesterday, showing Paul 6 points behind Obama, but the only candidate in the GOP field besting Obama among independent voters, 48 to 39 percent.

“This is yet another poll demonstrating the increasing popularity of Ron Paul’s message,” said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton.  “Congressman Paul has the ability to remain competitive against the president as his base of support continues to expand to different groups.”

These poll results follow an earlier Bloomberg News poll showing Paul in a statistical first place finish in Iowa, a key early voting state.  Also, a late October CNN/TIME poll showed him in the top three in the key states of Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina.

Ron Paul Grabs Second Place in New Hampshire Poll

Paul leading all other alternatives to Romney

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – In a Bloomberg News Poll released today, 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul vaults to second place in New Hampshire among likely Republican primary voters, with 17 percent of the vote.

“We’re very excited to see these numbers,” said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton. “While other campaigns have shot into the top tier, only to fade away, support for Congressman Paul in New Hampshire has been growing steadily, and we are prepared to hold our ground here – and advance.”

The New Hampshire figures come on the heels of a Bloomberg News poll showing Paul in a statistical tie for first place in Iowa, and a Public Policy Poll in which he was the only Republican candidate to best Obama among independent voters (48 to 39%).

Ron Paul Polls in First Place in Key Early Voting State of Iowa

New survey reveals a statistical tie with Herman Cain—and that Dr. Paul’s support is unwavering

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul polls well within the margin of error at first place and has an unusually loyal following that is unlikely to switch to another candidate, according to a new Bloomberg News poll.

Paul polls at a strong 19 percent while pizza baron Herman Cain polls at 20 percent, making the first in the nation race a statistical tie.  The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.4 percentage points and was surveyed during November 10th to 12th.

Mitt Romney polls at 18 percent and Newt Gingrich at 17 percent among the likely caucus goers, while Rick Perry and Michele Bachmann earned just 7 and 5 percent, respectively.  A mere 3 and 1 percent of respondents, respectively, chose Rick Santorum and Jon Huntsman.

Poll highlights favorable to Dr. Paul include the following points:
-Among likely caucus-goers who say their decision is final, Paul leads with 32 percent, followed by Romney and Gingrich at 25  and 17 percent, respectively; and
-Among Paul supporters who backed him in the 2008 caucuses, an impressive 69 percent of those who backed Paul’s bid for the presidency in 2008 still support him now; and
-Paul’s campaign leads all other campaigns in voter contact, with about two thirds of respondents saying they’ve heard from his campaign.

The Bloomberg News poll follows a recent CNN/TIME/ORC poll showing that Paul polls among the top three in the key early voting state in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina, and that concerning Iowa, Paul’s support is growing along with the changing nature of the field.

“The Bloomberg News poll reveals that Ron Paul is a top contender in the key early voting state of Iowa, which helps determine who will win the Republican nomination for the presidency,” said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton.

Ron Paul’s Plan Preserves Seniors’ Benefits, Mitt Romney’s Cuts Medicare

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – See below for statement from campaign of 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul.

From National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton:

“Ron Paul’s ‘Restore America Plan’, which some have called the boldest plan to reduce the federal deficit, proposes $1 trillion in federal spending in the first year, and it balances the federal budget in year three of a Paul Presidency.

“The plan cuts spending by ending the costly unconstitutional foreign wars, and cuts foreign welfare, corporate welfare, and overgrown federal bureaucracy.

“These cuts are made so that those who are dependent on domestic spending programs such as Medicare aren’t endangered through a sudden change in benefits.

“Mitt Romney’s economic plan makes only nominal cuts yet it manages to cut spending from Medicare benefits, the same benefits on which many elderly Americans have come to rely.

“That’s a shame because not only are the cuts disingenuous but the protections seniors are counting on are absent from a proposal that Mitt Romney regards as ‘bold’ and fair.
“Ron Paul’s ambitious plan also cuts taxes, authorizes a comprehensive audit of the Federal Reserve, and reins in dangerous government intervention by curtailing runaway spending and regulatory overreaches.

“Today’s government-imposed economic weakness demands action.  Ron Paul is the only candidate with the experience and plan to get Americans back to work and create lasting prosperity.”

Ron Paul Campaign Announces ‘Hispanics for Ron Paul’ Nationwide Coalition

National coalition formed to energize Hispanic voters

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – The Ron Paul 2012 Presidential campaign announced today its “Hispanics for Ron Paul” nationwide coalition formed to energize Hispanic voters who support Dr. Paul.
The first “Hispanics for Ron Paul” members are people from across the nation having leadership positions within the Ron Paul 2012 Presidential campaign.  Their membership in the coalition, then, demonstrates Hispanics’ support for Dr. Paul and the campaign’s willingness to recognize the talent of Americans of Hispanic ancestry.
“The principles of personal liberty, strong families and vision for economic prosperity resonate with me as both an American and an immigrant from Mexico.  Dr. Paul champions these principles and it is refreshing to support and work for someone who has been advocating freedom for a longer time period than I’ve been alive for,” said Fernando Cortes, Hispanic Outreach Director and Deputy Controller for the Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign.
“Our country is in need of leadership that will work to protect our freedoms rather than work to restrict them.  A Ron Paul presidency will ensure that liberty lives and thrives in America,” said Mr. Cortes.
In 2008, Mr. Cortes served as the Controller for the Ron Paul 2008 PCC at its headquarters in northern Virginia.  He has worked for the Leadership Institute, The American Conservative, and interned for the Heritage Foundation.  Mr. Cortes is also the Executive Director of the Washington Scholars Fellowship Program.
“As a business-owner living in Puerto Rico I feel every day the immense burden of big government’s regulations, bureaucracy, and over-taxation.  Ron Paul has unwaveringly stood up for liberty and a free-market economy, the founding principles that made our country great,” said Pedro Serra, who serves as the Washington State Executive Director for the Ron Paul 2012 Presidential campaign.
“As President, Dr. Paul will set the example for states, and nations around the world, to embrace liberty, peace, and prosperity,” said Mr. Serra, referring to the Texas Congressman as “Doctor” because Rep. Paul is by trade an OB-GYN who personally delivered more than 4,000 babies.
Mr. Serra is small business owner from San Juan, Puerto Rico and due to his campaign work he is currently based in Seattle, Washington.
“As a Mexican-born American citizen, I understand the hardships many Mexican families endure when struggling to survive and thrive.  Our current economy makes matters worse.  Citizens of this country are seeking an honest and truthful answer.  I support Ron Paul because his economic, immigration and foreign policies are consistent with the bottom line: people from all walks of life need a president who will cut spending, lower taxes and usher in a healthy economy,” said Zaira Dynia Valdovinos, who serves as a Regional Director for the Nevada component of the Ron Paul 2012 Presidential campaign.
“Immigration, in particular, is an issue dear to Hispanics and is also a pivotal issue to our ailing economy.  I fully support Ron Paul’s action plan to initiate a true immigration reform while not allowing amnesty to those illegally in the country.  Let the point be made clear: an illegal action is against the law, however, with respect to immigration, the law needs to be changed.  That is why I support Ron Paul; among his many sound stances on political issues, his stance on true immigration reform shines as a beacon of light for Hispanic people and for our country,” said Ms. Valdovinos, who is originally from Santa Maria, California.
Ms. Valdovinos works in the Nevada operation’s Reno office.  The Ron Paul 2012 Presidential campaign also has a Henderson, Nevada office located minutes outside Las Vegas.
As a function of this announcement, all three members now serve on the national advisory board of “Hispanics for Ron Paul.”
