Celebrated Harvard Alum Dr. Iris Mack Endorses Ron Paul for the Presidency

Internationally-recognized Harvard mathematician and derivatives whistleblower considers Dr. Paul’s many credentials as ample fodder for endorsement

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul announced today the endorsement of Iris Mack, the notable and accomplished applied mathematician, derivatives whistleblower and professor. The endorsement recently was made official on The Economic Policy Journal.

In endorsing the 12-term Congressman from Texas, Dr. Mack stated: “Ron Paul has some serious credentials: medical doctor, Air Force veteran, and author of several books detailing and predicting various economic issues and crises. As public official for many years, Dr. Paul has an excellent voting record as a fighter for liberty, and on a personal note he is a well-regarded family man.”

Continuing her praise, Dr. Mack cited Dr. Paul’s stance against President Obama’s civil liberties power-grab, saying, “Also, Ron Paul seems to be one of the few elected public servants who has come out against the NDAA Indefinite Detention Law – which Obama signed on New Year’s Eve deliberately when few were watching.”

“Taken together, there isn’t one thing I dislike about Ron Paul,” concluded Dr. Mack.
The campaign reacted to news of Dr. Mack’s endorsement positively.

“Iris Mack knows qualifications when she sees them so people following her work will take her word that Ron Paul is ideally suited to understand our nation’s challenges and provide winning solutions such as those found in his ‘Plan to Restore America.’ We appreciate Dr. Mack’s endorsement and anticipate that it will contribute to the strong showing we plan to in all stages of our 50-state campaign for the Republican nomination,” said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton.

Iris Mack, PhD, EMBA earned a Harvard doctorate in Applied Mathematics and a London Business School MBA. She is a former MIT professor. Dr. Mack is also a former Derivatives Quant/Trader who has worked in financial institutions in the U.S., London and Asia. Oxford-trained mathematician Dr. Paul Wilmott – founder of the Certificate of Quantitative Finance Program in London – has invited Dr. Mack to lecture on Energy Derivatives. He also invited her to join his team of quantitative financial markets bloggers on wilmott.com. This team of bloggers includes financial heavyweights such as the The Black Swan author Dr. Nassim Taleb; former Goldman Sachs Quant Dr. Emanuel Derman; and former derivatives trader Satyajit Das – recently featured in The Inside Job movie.

Dr. Mack is under contract with the Global Finance Division of John Wiley & Sons Publishers to write a book entitled “Energy Trading and Risk Management.” In addition, she conducts workshops on Quantitative Investments and High Frequency Trading for the Terrapinn Group “3-Day MBA Program” in Singapore, Hong Kong and London. She is also a Finance Subject Matter Expert for the Virginia Department of Education new online Financial Literacy program. Dr. Mack serves on a Research Advisory Board for the National Academy of Sciences. In addition, she serves on the Advisory Boards of the Women Mentor Women Foundation and the I Can Still Do That Foundation.

Dr. Mack founded Phat Math Inc. in Miami, Florida in 2003. A few years later in 2007 she and her colleagues at Phat Math launched their prototype mathematics edutainment social network PhatMath.com. Students in grades K-12 and College have access to free 24/7 online math homework help on PhatMath.com – named one of the Top 50 Social Sites for Educators and Academics and 25 Useful Networking Sites for Grad Students.

Dr. Mack has been an astronaut semifinalist, one of Glamour Magazine’s “Top 10” college students, one of Glamour’s “Top 10” working women, an investment banker, an energy trader, and an MIT professor. In addition, she was the second African-American female to earn a doctorate in Applied Mathematics from Harvard. Later she became a mathematics and business school professor at several academic institutions, while simultaneously running a consulting firm Associated Technologists, Inc. (ATI).

Ron Paul Campaign Announces Substantial TV Ad Buy in Nevada and Minnesota

Energetic ‘Big Dog’ ad featuring ‘Plan to Restore America’ provisions to air in key early voting states

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – The Ron Paul 2012 Presidential campaign will begin running its celebrated television ad ‘Big Dog’ in the key early voting states of Nevada and Minnesota.
The ad buy is substantial in size, and it is part of the campaign’s delegate strategy to secure the Republican nomination for the presidency. The campaign will air the ads on broadcast and cable television in both states.

This is the fourth time the campaign has purchased ads in Nevada, and the first time it has done so in Minnesota. With respect to Nevada, the campaign announced ad buys for ‘Secure,’ ‘Life,’ and the combined ‘Plan’ and ‘Consistent’ buy on October 7th, 14th, and 20th, respectively.

The 30-second spot ‘Big Dog’ contrasts establishment Republican candidates unwilling to make difficult choices on spending cuts and debt reduction with the sole candidate whose bite on such matters equals his bark: Ron Paul. The ad informs viewers about major provisions of Ron Paul’s “Plan to Restore America” including his proposals to cut $1 trillion from the federal budget in year one, balance the federal budget in year three, and eliminate the Departments of Commerce, Education, Energy, Housing and Urban Development, and Interior.

“Running ads in the key early voting states of Nevada and Minnesota is part of our delegate strategy to secure the Republican nomination. Both states present opportunities for a strong top-three showing in their upcoming caucuses,” said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton, referring to the February 4th nominating contest in Nevada and the February 7th one in Minnesota.

“Ours is the only campaign with the resources, organization, and stamina to defeat establishment candidate Mitt Romney in a 50-state race,” said Mr. Benton.

Ron Paul Super PAC Live Webcasting SC Primary, Urging Cable/Network Boycott

Revolution PAC panel and correspondents to break down contest and road ahead.

Northbrook, IL (PRWEB) January 20, 2012 - Revolution PAC, backer of U.S. Rep. Ron Paul’s bid for the Republican nomination, will host a live webcast on Saturday following the South Carolina Primary election. In conjunction with the event, the super committee is calling for a nationwide boycott of cable/network outlets, which have exhibited bias against Rep. Paul in their reporting.

“Pew Research just a few months ago confirmed the immense media bias against Dr. Paul,” explains Revolution PAC Chair Gary Franchi. “Despite his electoral success, he consistently receives the least national media coverage of all Republican candidates.”

Case in point, notes Franchi, was CNN’s post-Southern Republican Presidential Debate coverage Thursday, which provided coverage of neither Rep. Paul nor his debate remarks.

“Quite simply, Ron Paul’s supporters are losing their patience and are creating their own media opportunities,” says Franchi. “Revolution PAC is pleased to be able to offer this forum, and we anticipate a lively event on Saturday.”

Election analysis will be provided as the polls close tomorrow by Revolution PAC’s South Carolina correspondents and an in-studio grassroots liberty panel. The public is invited to participate in the webcast from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. CST Saturday, January 21 by visiting http://www.RevolutionPAC.com.

Rep. Paul received the coveted endorsement of South Carolina State Sen. Tom Davis Sunday, Davis calling Paul “a Tea Party of one against a towering wave of red ink.” At a Myrtle Beach press conference, Davis added, “There’s only one person speaking to what I believe is the core problem of our country today. The biggest threat to our liberty comes from debt.”

Joining Davis, three additional South Carolina state senators – Sen. Lee Bright (Spartanburg), Sen. Kevin Bryant (Spartanburg) and Sen. Danny Verdin (Greenville) – endorsed Rep. Paul Tuesday.

Reinforcing what is shaping up as a two-man race, Rep. Paul and Mitt Romney are the only Republican candidates who have successfully secured positions on the primary ballots of every state, reported South Carolina’s The State newspaper last week. A CNN/ORC International Poll released Monday also revealed that Paul and Romney are the only Republican contenders tied with Barack Obama in a likely general election matchup.

Revolution PAC is supporting U.S. Rep. Ron Paul’s campaign for the Republican nomination and consistent, constitutional message with targeted TV advertising, direct mail campaigns and innovative Web promotions complemented by billboards and radio ads in key primary states. Unlimited donations by individuals, businesses and organizations are being accepted by Revolution PAC to support that effort.

The Most Conservative GOP Senate Members Agree with Ron Paul on Indefinite Detention

Explains Townhall’s Mike Shedlock:

Any Senator voting on a bill that would allow US citizens to be arrested, detained indefinitely, even sent to Cuba without being formally charged with any crime is no friend or supporter to the US constitution…

Indeed, all 86 Senators who voted for that bill are cowards, hypocrites, and no friend to the United States or the US Constitution.

13 Courageous Votes

Nay ID Crapo, Michael [R]
 Nay ID Risch, James [R]
 Nay IL Durbin, Richard [D]
 Nay IA Harkin, Thomas [D]
 Nay KY Paul, Rand [R]
 Nay MD Cardin, Benjamin [D]
 Nay MN Franken, Al [D]

 Nay OR Merkley, Jeff [D]
 Nay OR Wyden, Ron [D]
 Nay SC DeMint, Jim [R]

There you have it. Anyone not on that list voted to trash the constitution. I am particularly pleased by the votes of Senators Jim DeMint, Thomas Coburn, Rand Paul, Mike Lee, Michael Crapo, and James Risch.

Those are the only six Republicans willing to stand behind the Constitution.

Ron Paul Support in South Carolina Surges and Puts Him Solidly in Top Three

Paul benefits from his trademark steady growth and his competitive Iowa, New Hampshire results

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul now polls an even stronger top three in the key early voting state of South Carolina, according to a new survey.

In the latest ARG poll Paul is in third place garnering 20 percent, with Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich in first and second place with 29 and 25 percent, respectively.  Other poll highlights include Paul polling strongest of all candidates among independents, and Paul polling strong among Tea Party members.

ARG polled 600 likely Republican primary voters on January 11th and 12th.  Since the last poll of its kind taken January 4th to 5th, Paul gained the most – surging from 9 to 20 percent – while Rick Santorum lost the most, freefalling from 24 to 7 percent.  In the prior poll, Paul was third at 9 percent, Gingrich and Santorum were tied for second at 24 percent, and Romney with 31 percent was first.  Over the life of the ARG poll this presidential cycle, Paul’s support has grown from 1 percent in April when he declared his candidacy to 20 percent, where it is today.

“On the heels of his competitive showings in Iowa and New Hampshire, Ron Paul is now surging in the key early voting state of South Carolina.  In a week’s time the congressman’s support in South Carolina has grown tremendously, attributed to the fact that more voters are learning about his platform of limited government and a return to personal and economic liberty,” said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton.

Jim DeMint: The GOP Must Start Listening to Ron Paul

Said Senator Jim DeMint on FOX News this morning:

If Republicans don’t understand the important aspects of what Ron Paul is saying, we won’t be able to exist as a party, certainly not a majority party… The debate in the Republican party needs to be between libertarians and conservatives… There’s no longer room for moderates and liberals because we don’t have any money to spend, so I don’t want to be debating with anyone who wants to grow government.”

Ron Paul vs. Romney: A Quick Match Up

By Zach Foster

Which is the better, more conservative, more consistent, and more Constitutional candidate in this Republican race?

-RON PAUL served his country.  Romney did not.
-RON PAUL understands the Constitution. Romney: "Ask our Constitutionalist over here" (pointing to Ron Paul)
-RON PAUL predicted the recession and opposed TARP.  Romney supported TARP bailouts.
-RON PAUL as a doctor delivered 4000 babies and was always pro-life. Romney supported Roe v. Wade for YEARS before deciding that opposing it was more popular among Republicans.
-RON PAUL gets the majority of contributions from working moms and dads and ACTIVE MILITARY members. Romney gets the majority of his contributions from WALL STREET.
-RON PAUL believed Netanyahu when he told Congress that mighty Israel doesn't need the U.S.  Romney doesn't think Israel can fight their battles without the U.S., even though Israel has been winning wars since before the U.S. turned them into a client state.
-RON PAUL is for a completely free market and no government intervention. Romney is in favor of federal subsidies (hmm, wasn't Solyndra federally subsidized?)
-RON PAUL will NOT provide incentives for illegal immigration.  For years, Romney was in favor of path-to-citizenship programs for illegal immigrants already in the U.S. before figuring out Republicans don’t like that…
-As a doctor, RON PAUL rejected MediCare payments and simply treated the poor for free, as a voluntary act of kindness. Romney favors individual mandates.
-RON PAUL voted against ObamaCare.  Romney designed it.
-RON PAUL has preached the SAME message of sound money, Constitutional government, and freedom for DECADES.  Some of Romney's many flip flops are documented on video at WhichMitt.com, and for a full day's reading, one need only Google search "Romney flip flops."
-RON PAUL’s views on national defense were praised by Ronald Reagan.  Romney’s were not.
-RON PAUL is an honest man, a consistent idea man, and a true Constitutional conservative.  Romney is a flip flopping big government phony conservative whose many many flip flops show that he’ll say whatever it takes to get elected (we call this lying)

RON PAUL 2012!

Ron Paul Celebrates Historic Second Place Win in New Hampshire Primary

“We urge Ron Paul’s opponents who have been unsuccessfully trying to be the conservative alternative to Mitt Romney to unite by getting out of the race and uniting behind Paul’s candidacy.”

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – Ron Paul tonight scored an historic second-place victory in the 2012 New Hampshire Primary.  Below please find comments from National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton:
“Ron Paul tonight had an incredibly strong second-place finish in New Hampshire and has stunned the national media and political establishment.
“When added to Paul’s top-tier showing in Iowa, it’s clear he is the sole Republican candidate who can take on and defeat both Mitt Romney and Barack Obama.
“The race is becoming more clearly a two-man race between establishment candidate Mitt Romney and Ron Paul, the candidate of authentic change.  That means there is only one true conservative choice.
“Ron Paul has won more votes in Iowa and New Hampshire than any candidate but Mitt Romney.
“Ron Paul and Mitt Romney have been shown in national polls to be the only two candidates who can defeat Barack Obama.
“And Ron Paul and Mitt Romney are the only two candidates who can run a full, national campaign, competing in state after state over the coming weeks and months.   Ron Paul’s fundraising numbers — over $13 million this quarter — also prove he will be able to compete with Mitt Romney.  No other candidate can do all of these things.
“Ron Paul is clearly the conservative alternative to Mitt Romney as the campaign goes forward.
“We urge Ron Paul’s opponents who have been unsuccessfully trying to be the conservative alternative to Mitt Romney to unite by getting out of the race and uniting behind Paul’s candidacy.
“Ron Paul has the boldest plan to cut spending, a dedication to protecting life, and a lifelong dedication to the Constitution and limited government.  He also has the necessary support to campaign nationwide against Mitt Romney.
“Our campaign is already planning ahead for South Carolina, Florida, and beyond.  Soon Ron Paul will head to South Carolina to begin a feverish round of campaigning.
“Ron Paul is in this race for the long haul.  And he is ready to fight.

“See you on the campaign trail.”

Ron Paul Campaign Statement on Morning Media Incident

CONCORD, N.H. – Jesse Benton, national campaign chairman for the Ron Paul campaign, released the following statement today in regards to the media incident in Manchester, NH this morning:

“Dr. Paul has been committed to meeting one on one with New Hampshire voters, and has aggressively campaigned at town halls, house parties, and meet and greets since early last spring.

“This morning, he attempted to hold an event at Moe Joe’s Diner in Manchester, to speak with patrons and supporters in the last push before the New Hampshire primary. Unfortunately, Dr. Paul and his family were forced to leave early after over 120 members of the press created a mob-like atmosphere that was deemed to be unsafe for the candidate, Moe Joe’s customers, and reporters themselves.

“The campaign had planned to cover our normal degree of media interest, which is always ample. However, a significant increase in the press corps, largely driven by an influx of foreign journalists, exceeded all expectations.

“Mrs. Paul herself, attempting to campaign alongside her husband, was shoved aside by one reporter and told to “get out of the way.”

“While we are very welcoming of media coverage and grateful for the interest in Dr. Paul and his campaign, basic safety simply must come first. On behalf of Dr. Paul and his campaign team, I would like to apologize to customers at Moe Joe’s who may have been distressed by this incident, and extend our gratitude and apologies to the owners, who were kind enough to have us.

“We ask the press, at all upcoming events over the next day and a half, to be respectful of both Dr. Paul and of New Hampshire voters, who are entitled to examine their candidates in a safe and responsible atmosphere.”

Ron Paul Wins GOP Straw Poll in Delegate-Rich Idaho

Handily defeats competitors in the Gem State

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul easily beat his competitors in the Idaho state Republican Party’s first-ever public presidential straw poll.  Paul earned 173 of the 399 votes cast statewide, followed by Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum, and Jon Huntsman who earned 135, 47, 40, and 4 votes,  respectively.

The straw poll was held at the Riverside Hotel, located in Boise.  The Idaho Republican State Central Committee recently moved its voting contest to March 6th—Super Tuesday—and will nominate candidates using a county by county caucus system.  Idaho has 32 delegates at the 2012 Republican National Convention, more than Iowa, New Hampshire, and Nevada.

“Ron Paul has a tremendous support base in the oft-overlooked but important state of Idaho.  This straw poll win is a positive early indicator that as we focus even more on Pacific Northwest contests, Idaho will stand out as one of the states where Ron Paul has a competitive edge over his establishment competitors,” said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton.

Full results of the straw poll are as follows.*

Ron Paul – 173
 Mitt Romney – 135
 Newt Gingrich – 47
 Rick Santorum – 40
 Jon Huntsman – 4

[*Rick Perry’s campaign requested he not appear on the ballot.]

New Hampshire Turns Out for Ron Paul

450 Pack the House at UNH Town Hall

CONCORD, NH – GOP Presidential candidate Ron Paul got a roaring welcome back to New Hampshire as 450 supporters and undecided voters packed his first town hall meeting since the Iowa Caucuses.

The Granite State Room in the Memorial Union Building at UNH-Durham was standing room only as Dr. Paul and NH State Senator Jim Forsythe took the stage for a brief discussion followed by questions from the audience.

“We had two overflow crowds today,” said NH State Director Jared Chicoine. “And that as two polls were released showing a widening gap in this state between the two top candidates and the rest of the field.

“Dr. Paul is drawing crowds because he is the only believable candidate on the issue that will define this country in 2013 and beyond: real, sound economic growth for the American people.”

Ron Paul Campaign Announces South Carolina TV Ad ‘Betrayal’ Aimed at Santorum

Hard-hitting television, Internet ad argues that Washington insider Rick is an untrustworthy serial hypocrite on spending and right to work

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – The Ron Paul 2012 Presidential campaign announced today its new ad ‘Betrayal’ aimed at Rick Santorum.

The ad will begin airing on Monday, January 9th on television in the key early voting state of South Carolina.  In addition, the campaign has arranged for internet promotion on websites where conservatives congregate.

‘Betrayal’ exposes Rick Santorum as another serial hypocrite in the vein of Newt Gingrich, showcasing the former U.S. Senator from Pennsylvania’s record of duplicity on issues such as spending – including raising the debt ceiling – and insider lobbying.  The ad also features Santorum’s appalling record on right to work, an issue dear to South Carolina residents but one of pivotal importance right now due to the NLRB-Boeing dispute.  The ad also includes Rick Santorum’s now-infamous confession that he is, in his own words, “no longer a deficit hawk.”

“Ron Paul can come to South Carolina with a clear conscience and an impeccable record on the issues important to voters there: fiscal restraint, right to work, and strict adherence to the Constitution and one’s own promises.  In addition, Dr. Paul has support from many of our armed services men and women,” said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton.

“This ad showcases the real Rick Santorum and it’s the reason why Santorum should be leery of competing in the ‘First in the South’ Republican primary, and it is why we hope for a strong, competitive showing in the Palmetto State,” added Mr. Benton.

VIDEO: New Hampshire to Get a Dose of Ron Paul’s “Compassion”

Six-figure ad buy in Granite State announced by Revolution PAC

Manchester, NH | Revolution PAC will help propel U.S. Rep. Ron Paul to victory in the New Hampshire Republican Primary with a six-figure investment in advertising airtime between now and January 10.

Aired will be a broadcast version of the super committee’s viral web video, “The Compassion of Dr. Ron Paul.” A total of 237 spots featuring the 60-second ad will run on CNN, FOX, MSNBC, Discovery and History channels, and ABC, including three airings during Saturday’s ABC News/WMUR Debate at St. Anselm College in Manchester.

Results of a new Washington Times/JZ Analytics Poll, taken Wednesday, show Paul in strong second position in New Hampshire. His top-tier finish at Tuesday’s Iowa Caucuses produced a seven-point bounce, to 24 percent.

Enjoying nearly a half-million You Tube views since its release last week, as well as a hit on NBC Nighly News, “Compassion” highlights the Texas congressman and medical doctor’s personal generosity and support of free market health care. Featured is the story of James Williams of Matagorda County, Texas, and his young wife who found themselves under Dr. Paul’s care during a high-risk delivery in 1972. In the video, Williams recounts the prejudice of the day and how Paul looked beyond color lines to deliver their bi-racial child when other nurses and doctors ignored James’ pleas for help.

“Dr. Paul understands that in medicine, individuals are best served when physicians are able to practice their craft freely,” explains Revolution PAC Chair Gary Franchi. “We are proud to spotlight not only Ron Paul’s legendary professional integrity but also his spirit of generosity with this ad.”

James Williams and the broadcast version of “Compassion” will be featured Friday on “Freedom Watch with Judge Napolitano” on FOX Business Channel.

Revolution PAC is supporting Ron Paul’s consistent, constitutional message with targeted TV advertising, direct mail campaigns and innovative Web promotions complemented by billboards and radio ads in key primary states. Unlimited donations by individuals, businesses and organizations are being accepted by Revolution PAC to support that effort.

Three NH Newspapers Endorse Ron Paul for President

North Country publications back the “Straight Talking Texan” in wake of his strong Iowa finish

CONCORD, NH – The Littleton Courier, Berlin Reporter, and Coos County Democrat all announced today their endorsements of 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul.

The endorsements come on the heels of the 12-term Congressman from Texas’s strong top-three finish in the Iowa Caucus giving one of two viable tickets out of the Hawkeye State.

“Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney has been in the lead for months,” wrote the editors, “but voters still seem desperate for an alternative — there’s always another candidate pulling stronger or almost as strong numbers in the polls. Voters have lost faith in Obama, but they are not sold on Romney to replace him.”

Congressman Ron Paul, however, “has never voted to raise a tax and voted against all of the bailouts that have riled up Tea Partiers and Occupy Wall Streeters alike,” they continued. “His prediction that the United States can no longer afford the economic cost of our overseas commitments makes many Republicans uncomfortable, possibly by the very truth of the assertion. For decades he has been that rare sort of politician who speaks what he believes to be the truth and doesn’t flutter in the wind of public opinion. That could not be said of Obama or Romney.

“Powerful leaders like Franklin Roosevelt and Ronald Reagan change the political landscape,” the editors concluded. “This is what Ron Paul would do for our country and why we support him.”

Ron Paul Campaign Celebrates Great Victory at Iowa Caucus

Paul makes history in first-in-nation voting state

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – The Ron Paul 2012 Presidential campaign is celebrating a great victory with its strong top-three finish at the Iowa Caucus. Below please find comments from Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton:

“The Ron Paul campaign is celebrating a great victory tonight.

“There were three tickets out of Iowa, and Ron Paul earned one of them.

“One of the three tickets, the one belonging to Rick Santorum, is a dead-end due to Santorum’s weak fundraising and lack of national campaign organization.

“This is now a two way race between establishment candidate Mitt Romney and the candidate for real change, Ron Paul.

“Ron Paul has a top notch national organization, tremendous fundraising prowess, and unequaled enthusiasm among his volunteers and supporters.

“Dr. Paul has taken the first step towards earning the delegates it will take to be the GOP nominee and is the only candidate not named Mitt Romney with the ability to do so.

“Ron Paul is now off to New Hampshire, South Carolina, Louisiana, Nevada, Maine, North Dakota, Washington, Colorado, and beyond.

“See you on the campaign trail.”
