Ron Paul a Rising Contender Against Obama in Florida

Head-to-head, Paul-Obama in statistical tie

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – In a new PPP Poll, 2012 Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul is in a statistical tie with President Barack Obama in the battleground state of Florida, with Dr. Paul taking 44 percent to President Obama’s 45 percent in the head-to-head matchup.

Dr. Paul performed the best against the President among the other Republican presidential candidates.

“This latest poll is just more evidence of Ron Paul’s competitiveness against the President,” said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton.

“Ron Paul’s message of constitutionally-limited government, a humble, pro-America foreign policy, and sound money is continuing to resonate with Americans who are clearly tired of the same failed policies being offered by establishment politicians.  The same goes, it seems, for voters in the Sunshine State,” added Mr. Benton.

These results come just days after a Harris Poll showed Ron Paul defeating President Obama 51 percent to 49 percent in a general election race.

In Case You Missed It: Military Publication Salutes Ron Paul

Recognizes the support active-military confer on Paul

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul was recently recognized by a well-known West Coast military publication for the campaign contributions active-military men and women give him, contributions that far exceed those given to his other GOP competitors and to President Barack Obama. See piece below from “The Ranger,” a publication celebrating its 60th anniversary:

RON PAUL: YOU WANT HIM
Most money from Joes goes to Ron Paul
By Tyler Hemstreet

As someone who has served his country, Air Force veteran and 2012 Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul has some very straightforward views on the United States’ involvement in the Global War on Terror.

He believes hundreds of thousands of U.S. Service members have been stretched thin all across the globe in more than 135 countries – often without a clear mission, any sense of what defines victory, or the knowledge of when they’ll be permanently reunited with their families.

He believes acting as the world’s policeman and nation-building weakens the U.S., puts our troops in harm’s way, and sends precious resources to other nations in the midst of a historic economic crisis.

And the Texas congressman also believes the U.S. should end nation-building, which is draining troop morale, increasing debt and sacrificing lives with no end in sight.

Those views are striking a chord with military members across the nation…

Ron Paul Attracts Big Crowds During Today’s Multi-City Iowa Tour

Holds 3 town hall meetings, will attend Story GOP event

ANKENY, Iowa – 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul received a warm reception during today’s daylong tour of Iowa.  The 12-term Congressman from Texas held town hall meetings in Dubuque, Clinton and Muscatine and was set to attend the Story County Republican Chili Supper.

“With each visit to Iowa, Ron Paul attracts large crowds of supporters whose interest in his candidacy is intensifying.  At the town hall meetings, Iowans appreciated Dr. Paul’s knowledge of the issues, his candor and the gracious manner in which he tries to greet as many voters as possible,” said Ron Paul Iowa Campaign Chairman Drew Ivers.

At least 150 voters attended Dr. Paul’s Dubuque town hall, 165 at his Clinton town hall and more than 150 at his Muscatine town hall.  The campaign’s Iowa Vice Chairman David Fischer described the crowd yields as “strong to extraordinarily competitive,” especially in the smaller settings of Clinton and Muscatine.

“These numbers are evidence of something special happening in Iowa and America, and they are proof of Dr. Paul’s steadily rising competitiveness,” said Mr. Fischer.

In addition, all members of the Iowa team who staffed today’s events noted that Dr. Paul was particularly engaging during the question and answer portion of his town hall gatherings.  At the conclusion of his Muscatine town hall, Dr. Paul was set to travel to the Story County Republican Chili Supper.

Rocking the Revolution for Ron Paul

By Robin Koerner

One of the reasons that Ron Paul so often gets things right is because he is a student of history.

He was able to predict the housing bubble and bust, explaining in detail not only what would happen but also why it would happen. He predicted the wiping out of homeowners’ equity nationwide and the massive losses that would be borne by the banking sector.

He predicted that the decade following 9-11 would see massive expansion of government spending, especially on welfare and entitlements, with a large increase in the number of people who depend on the government for economic security. He predicted the decade’s reduction of civil liberties at home and the expansion of militarism abroad. He predicted the credit crisis and the collapse of the dollar, which are ongoing. He even predicted the flocking of investors to gold, which we are seeing today. He told us what we needed to do to avoid all of these things, but not one listened.

Given Ron Paul’s record, Zak Carter, a US Army veteran of Kosovo and Iraq, probably made a safe bet when he decided to devote four months of his life to bringing about another one of Dr. Paul’s predictions: “I always knew that if you were going to have a revolution, you needed to things: young people and music”. Ron Paul already has many young followers; Zak is bringing the music to get him thousands more.

Mr. Carter is the organizer of the “Rock the Revolution Tour” (rocktherevolutiontour.com) for the peace-loving, freedom-protecting, Constitution-defending Congressman seer. Bringing together bands from all over the nation, he already has concerts lined up in 25 cities from Seattle on Oct 15th and to Boston on Dec 16th.

Although the names of some of the biggest artists are still under wraps, we already know that the likes of Europa, Rise, Concise and Krookid, Jordan Page, Rothbard, J.D. Nero, the Voice of Independence, Billy Blaze and Per Capita will be playing. Some of the acts will be accompanying the tour from start to finish. Others will be playing in their home regions.

Throughout history, music has been at the core of massive cultural and political change, and it has been at its most powerful in defense or celebration of humanity’s highest ideals, such as Peace in the ‘60s, the End of Hunger in the ‘80s (remember Bob Geldoff’s Band Aid?), and now, in 2011, Liberty.

If that sounds like a fanciful comparison, consider that the artists at the Rock the Revolution Tour aren’t there to promote a politician (although they’ll likely be voting for him) as much as they are to celebrate the most important, most American, principle for which he stands. Liberty, like music, is empowering and, well, liberating…

Ron Paul has arguably the most diverse grassroots support of any candidate for the presidency in 2012, but young adults are disproportionately represented in his growing, passionate base. The new political generation is bypassing the mainstream media to go straight to the candidates’ speeches, interviews and voting records, which can now all be found online. More importantly, they are reading economists, thinkers and political ideas that haven’t had much play in the public schools or the media for generations. Their Paulian “a-ha” moment invariably occurs when they see that neither mainstream Democrats nor mainstream Republicans have the answers to what ails the country today: indeed, they are the people who have gotten us into this mess of war, loss of civil liberties and crony corporatism. It’s time for something, someone, completely different.

Young people from high-school-age to their early 30s are, as they have been throughout history, the most open to a whole new paradigm… And what’s not to like about a new paradigm of non-aggression, the Constitution, individual liberty and responsibility and sound money – all things that Ron Paul has been talking about and voting for for years?

Unfortunately for the Ron Paul campaign, much of the American population does not yet know much about their man, and since those people don’t know what they’re missing, they have no particular reason to google him. Fortunately for Ron Paul’s chances, though, the demographic to which he appeals most strongly is generally up for some good live music – especially when it’s free. Zak Carter’s Rock the Revolution Tour will be exploiting that fact to get their attention.

Conceived only a few weeks ago, the project already has an extraordinary momentum that suggests that it is likely to become big enough to reach hundreds of thousands. At worst, they’re all going to have a really good time. At best, they’ll consider the possibility that politics is not, in fact, all the same, and that “Rock the Revolution” is just the opening act of a much bigger event – a Revolution to Rock America.

Ron Paul Bests Obama in Latest Poll

Shows Paul beating President in head-to-head matchup

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – In a new Harris Poll, 2012 Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul beats President Obama 51 percent to 49 percent in a general election race.

“This is yet another poll that clearly proves how competitive Ron Paul is against the sitting President,” said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton.  “Dr. Paul is making strides, affirming that the American people are looking for conviction instead of the typical status quo rhetoric being offered by establishment candidates.”

These results come just a few weeks after a Reuters/Ipsos survey showed Ron Paul polling within striking distance of President Obama among registered voters.  Furthermore, a late August Rasmussen poll showed him within 1 percent of President Obama in a head-to-head matchup.

Another recent Gallup survey, conducted August 17-18, shows Paul only 2 percentage points behind Obama in a general election match-up.  In a similar head-to-head survey from last year done by Rasmussen, Dr. Paul drew a statistical dead heat with the President.  And earlier this year in a survey by CNN, he did the best out of the other Republicans put up against Obama in a head-to-head poll.

Ron Paul Handily Sells Out New York City’s Largest Nightclub

Nearly 1,900 grassroots activists, luminaries celebrate

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – 2012 Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul drew a spectacular 1,862 greater New York City metropolitan area voters for a fundraising rally last night.

“Ron Paul continues to inspire a movement that no other campaign can duplicate in its conviction and broadness,” said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton.

“The success of this entirely-grassroots event in the heart of New York City demonstrates that supporters are motivated by Dr. Paul’s winning message of Constitutionally-limited government, sound money and a traditional Republican noninterventionist foreign policy,” said Mr. Benton.

The event was hosted by the Ron Paul NYC Liberty HQ, an independent grassroots organization.  Luminaries included Jack Hunter, Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign Blogger, Radio Host and Columnist for The American Conservative; Peter Schiff, CEO of Euro Pacific Capital; the Hon. Dan Halloran, New York City Councilman (R-19); Murray Sabrin, Former U.S. Senate candidate in New Jersey; and singer-songwriter Jordan Page.

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – 2012 Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul attracted more than 400 supporters as State Sen. Michael J. Doherty (R-23) publicly endorsed the Texas Congressman on the steps of the New Jersey State House in Trenton, today.

“Following an exciting trip to Florida and Louisiana where support was visible, today also yielded a huge crowd in New Jersey thanks to the enthusiastic endorsement of Sen. Ron Paul Speaks to Capacity Crowd at Louisiana State University Event

Inaugural Youth for Ron Paul event exceeds expectations

LAKE JACKSON, Texas–2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul spoke to a capacity crowd in Baton Rouge at Louisiana State University’s Union Theater tonight.

The visit marked the first on-campus visit since the launch of his Youth for Ron Paul initiative, and it exceeded expectations with more than 1,250 LSU students, other youth and the at-large community.

“The sense of excitement here at LSU just after Dr. Paul’s successful visit to Florida was palpable, as young supporters and Baton Rouge residents demonstrated that Ron Paul’s support is found everywhere nationwide,” said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton.

“Remember, at this first YFP event – which we plan to duplicate on other campuses – there were no freebies, no exclusive opportunities to greet the candidate, and no well-organized straw poll event.  There was just Ron Paul, which appears to be more than enough to draw the 1,250 or so supporters,” said Mr. Benton.

The visit to LSU for the YFP event occurred immediately prior to Dr. Paul’s presiding over the grand opening celebration of his Louisiana state headquarters, also in Baton Rouge which drew an additional crowd of 700.

“I think I speak for YFP supporters nationwide when I say how pleased we are with the turnout at this inaugural event and the campaign’s demonstration of young people’s enthusiasm,” Edward King, National Youth Coordinator, said.

“This encouraging turnout shows just how popular Ron Paul’s ideas are among youth, who this election cycle will comprise a core set of voters and volunteers,” said Mr. King.

Campaign makes Iowa a top priority for primary

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – The Ron Paul 2012 Presidential campaign today announced that Congressman Paul will attend the Iowa state Republican Party’s Reagan Dinner.

After finishing second in the recent Iowa Straw Poll in Ames by less than one percent, Paul has continued to make Iowa a top priority for his 2012 Presidential campaign.

“Iowa has always been an important state in establishing momentum and shaping the national debate,” said Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign Manager John Tate. “Dr. Paul’s recent performance in the Iowa Straw Poll and his continued growth in polls show that Iowa and the nation are looking to his leadership and experience for real solutions to the problems facing this country.”

In 2010, Paul gave a keynote address the evening before Iowa’s State Republican Party Convention. Congressman Paul’s son, United States Senator Rand Paul, was the featured speaker at the Iowa GOP’s “Night of the Rising Stars” earlier this year.

Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign Releases Newest Ad

Highlights Paul’s military service and unrivaled commitment to veterans

LAKE JACKSON, Texas– Today, the Ron Paul 2012 Presidential campaign released its latest television ad. The 60-second spot entitled ‘A Veteran’s Best Friend’ highlights Paul’s military service and unrivaled commitment to veterans.

“Dr. Paul has a long record in Congress as a strong advocate for veterans and issues important to them, particularly in making sure that they receive recognition for the sacrifices they’ve made in service to our country,” said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton.

The ad is the first in what will be a $1 million television push over the next few weeks. It is scheduled to air nationally on the FOX News Channel during debate coverage and run heavily in New Hampshire, Iowa, Nevada, and South Carolina on broadcast and cable. At this stage in the primary election cycle few other campaigns have the ability to make an ad push of this scale, putting the Paul campaign in elite company.

Regarding the campaign’s ad push Benton went on to say:

“Our campaign is seeing growing momentum now and is doing this ad blitz to cement ourselves in the top tier. We’ve seen Dr. Paul’s poll numbers steadily increase, with  strong showings in recent New Hampshire and Iowapolls, as well as strong head-to-head showings versus President Obama.”

As a presidential candidate, Congressman Paul has garnered more donations from active-duty military than all of the other Republican presidential candidates combined, and more than President Obama as well. Paul’s consistent adherence to Constitutional principles regarding American foreign policy, and his calls to bring the troops home in order to defend the country as opposed to spending trillions policing and nation-building in foreign lands has gained him wide support among veterans and active military alike.

End Ron Paul Censorship!

Do you think Ron Paul is getting the media coverage he deserves? If you’re like many folks, your answer is a resounding “NO!”

After all, polls consistently show Ron Paul polling within the top three nationally, but he’s still virtually IGNORED by the national media. Can I count on you to do something about it?

The truth is, by censoring Dr. Paul’s message of small, constitutionally-limited government, the media is acting as a roadblock to this campaign.

Of course, it is important to remember that bad press and bad press relations will only hurt Dr. Paul and his message.

So it is important to present facts and enthusiastic support for Dr. Paul in a civil manner.

By establishing a good relationship with the media, we can encourage more and friendlier coverage of Dr. Paul which will help expand support for Ron Paul’s campaign.

The media is always looking for great stories, so you can help Dr. Paul by being a great source of information.

To start out, you only need to ask the question, “Why are you censoring my access to Ron Paul’s views?”

Because censorship is precisely what is going on. So take some time to courteously discuss these important FACTS with the media to explain just why Ron Paul is a serious contender:

·         Ron Paul polls consistently in a dead heat with President Obama (Rasmussen, Gallup, CNN, Rasmussen);
·         Ron Paul consistently places in the top three in major Republican Primary polls;
·         Ron Paul is number two in fundraising and number one for individual donations;
·         Ron Paul has more military donations than all other GOP candidates combined, as well as President Obama;
·         Ron Paul is a twelve-term Congressman and has spent his entire career defending the Constitution;
·         Ron Paul is the only candidate to accurately predict the housing bubble, economic crises and the devaluation of the dollar.

Once you establish the legitimacy of Dr. Paul’s candidacy,  you can then ask, “Why isn’t there more coverage of someone who meets all the requirements of a serious candidate?”

By presenting the facts in a civil manner, you can spread Dr. Paul’s message of liberty and help him win the Republican nomination.

Please contact the national media -- and your local media -- today, and remember to treat them with courtesy and respect.

Clay County GOP Chair & Co-Chair Endorse Ron Paul for the Presidency

Kris Thiessen and Josh Davenport prefer Paul

ANKENY, Iowa – The Iowa component of the Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign announced today that two Clay County Republican Party officials have endorsed Dr. Paul for President of the United States.

“The reason I was first impressed with Congressman Paul and continue to be is his strong stand to preserve our individual freedoms, personal responsibility and States’ rights, and to limit the power of the federal government,” said Clay County Republican Chair Kris Thiessen.

The first round of federal bailouts and stimulus inspired Ms. Thiessen to organize Spencer’s first Tax Day Tea Party rally.  A small business owner for 25 years, she has been the Clay County GOP chair since July 2010.  Her husband George is a 20-year Navy reservist who served in Afghanistan in 2006 and supports Dr. Paul, as do the couple’s three children.

“I am starting to hear people say, ‘This is the Age of Ron Paul.’  I think they are right.  It’s the age where Americans across the country are saying our government is too big.  Republican candidate Congressman Ron Paul is the only one who will bring sanity to the White House,” said Ms. Thiessen.

Ms. Thiessen publicly endorsed Dr. Paul at his Spencer Town Hall on Tuesday, which attracted 135 supporters and interested voters.

“Ron Paul’s economic plan and his principles of limited government are what our nation needs more than any other political promise that is being touted.  Whether we want to realize and admit it or not, things have really changed economically to the point of threatening our national security,” said Josh Davenport, Clay County Republican Party Co-Chair.

Mr. Davenport is a Baptist pastor in Spencer, as well as a Spencer Tea Party leader. Mr. Davenport says that most people would consider him to be an evangelical fundamentalist Christian, and that he supported Mike Huckabee in the last presidential cycle.  Adding that he likes a lot of what Dr. Paul’s colleague Rep. Michele Bachmann says, he settled on the idea that Dr. Paul has a solid track record.

“So many things have happened that Ron Paul said would happen, what he says makes sense to me and he has a proven legislative track record to prove what he would do as president.  Our nation is tired of the nonsense.  The people don’t want to vote for another party-establishment candidate who won’t dare to make the necessary changes and Ron Paul is the only one who can defeat President Obama in 2012,” said Mr. Davenport.

Ron Paul to Receive Endorsement of New Jersey State Sen. Mike Doherty

Garden State’s top conservative goes all in for Dr. Paul

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – 2012 Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul will receive the endorsement of New Jersey State Senator Michael J. Doherty (R-23) on Monday, September 26th at a noon press conference on the steps of the New Jersey State House, located in Trenton.

“New Jersey’s motto is ‘Liberty and prosperity’ so it is fitting that a tireless proponent of these values is stepping forward to endorse Ron Paul, the nation’s undisputed champion of personal and economic freedom,” said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton.

Said Sen. Doherty:

“Now more than ever, the United States needs a leader who respects the Constitution and who will return liberty and prosperity to the American people.

“We need a leader who will use our military only when it is absolutely necessary to defend the national security interests of the United States, and who will stop engaging our military in wasteful and unconstitutional nation building exercises.

“We need a leader who will stand up to the Federal Reserve to stop the destruction of the dollar, and to protect savers, retirees and the middle class.  We need a leader who recognizes that there can be no liberty and freedom unless we respect private property rights.

“There is only one candidate for President who meets that description.  His name is Ron Paul, and it is my great honor and privilege to endorse him for President of the United States.”

Sen. Doherty is serving his first term in the New Jersey Senate, after serving four terms in the New Jersey General Assembly.  By most measures, he is the most conservative legislator in New Jersey.  Sen. Doherty’s record has earned him repeated endorsements and top ratings from pro-business groups, industry associations, Second Amendment rights organizations and prolife advocacy groups.

Sen. Doherty graduated with a B.S. from the United States Military Academy at West Point and earned his J.D. at Seton Hall University School of Law.  Achieving the rank of Captain in the Army, he has extensive military experience including living and working in Germany where his top secret contributions helped deter possible Soviet aggression during the Cold War.  Sen. Doherty has three active-duty sons serving in the military.

U.S. Rep. Justin Amash of Michigan Endorses Ron Paul for the Presidency

Rising star, limited government advocate prefers Paul

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – The Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign announced today that U.S. Rep. Justin Amash (R-MI) has endorsed Dr. Paul’s candidacy for President of the United States.

Said Rep. Amash:

“No person in public office has done more to secure the liberty of the American people than Dr. Ron Paul.

“Time and again, Dr. Paul has been right, and the conventional wisdom has been wrong.  For decades, he has warned about the dangers of deficit spending and government’s reckless expansion of the money supply.  He has warned about the unforeseen consequences of sending our troops into unnecessary wars.  He has warned about sacrificing our freedoms for empty promises that government will protect us from harm.

“Long before millions joined his cause Dr. Paul realized that constitutional limits on government are the greatest achievement of the American people.  He has refused to vote for unbalanced budgets, ever-expanding government powers over our personal lives, and short-term economic Band-Aids of which so many other politicians on both sides of the aisle are hopelessly enamored.  Vote after vote, Dr. Paul has stood up for the regular American with no political connections and no one else to trust in government.

“Every day in Congress, I am reminded of our critical need for practical, honest, and humble public servants like Dr. Paul, who understand that well-meaning government actions can do both great good and great harm.  He is a top contender for President of the United States, and his views have inspired a new generation of Republicans, including me, who have taken up the cause of liberty—the founding cause of the Republican Party.  Dr. Paul is a mentor and an inspiration. It is my great privilege to endorse him for President.”

Rep. Amash was elected to the House of Representatives on November 2, 2010, and serves on the Budget Committee and the Oversight and Government Reform Committee.  Before his election to the House, he worked as an attorney and served as a Michigan state representative.  Rep. Amash received his bachelor’s degree with High Honors in Economics from the University of Michigan and his Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School.

“Congressman Amash is one of the most principled, dynamic members of the new generation of House members.  Upon his election to the people’s House where today we are both privileged to serve, I was heartened by the election of someone so in tune with the values that will restore America to its roots as a nation more mindful of economic and personal liberty.

“Congressman Amash possesses a deep appreciation for the limits our cherished Constitution places on the federal government, making his endorsement an especially meaningful one for me,” said Dr. Paul.

News of the Michigan congressman’s endorsement comes prior to the grand opening celebration of Dr. Paul’s Michigan headquarters, located at 122 South Main Street, Suite 110-C, in Ann Arbor.  The event will feature a press conference followed by an all-day welcoming atmosphere for both volunteers and the at-large public.

The Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign has selected Adam de Angeli to coordinate efforts in the state.  Mr. De Angeli worked for Dr. Paul’s 2008 presidential bid, where he developed software for the campaign’s precinct leadership program.

Details of the grand opening event are as follows.  All times Eastern.
